We are excited to announce the next major update for MAVIS: Version 5.0!
This release combines our ideas with yours. We have listened to your requests and have come up with a selection that we believe will help you use MAVIS further and produce high quality, professional shots with your iPhone. We love hearing your suggestions, so if you have any, feel free to email us at email@example.com
So let’s look into the depths of this update:
Shutter angles have now been incorporated into MAVIS. This means you can switch between shutter speed, and shutter angle. This allows you to have more control and better precision with your shutter.
To change shutter angles head to Settings>>Controls & Interface>>Shutter.
Once you’ve chosen your preferred shutter speed or angle, MAVIS now allows you to lock it in. When the lock feature is applied, the shutter will not change, regardless if you’re in auto or manual mode for the ISO. The images below demonstrate the new unlock and lock function for this new feature.
Separated targets for exposure and focus
Target mode in the exposure and focus flyout menus have now been completely separated. There are now independent reticles for focus and exposure. Both these features can be seen on the MAVIS viewfinder at the same time, so you are able to use both reticles simultaneously to perfect your shot.
Extra metadata for files
Within file handing, you can now customise your file name prefix for your videos to suit your needs. An example could be to use the prefix ‘MAV_’ so you know what’s been shot in MAVIS. GPS location metadata can be turned on and used to locate where your footage was shot. This can be seen in both your MAVIS file store videos and also if you choose to save to your iPhone.
23.98 and 29.97 framerates
Along with all the frames rates we already have, 23.98 and 29.97 have now been added to MAVIS.
A small addition has been made to the timecode function. When timecode has been activated in MAVIS, a small icon will appear next to it, to remind you what timecode mode you are in. This can be seen in both DOP and fullscreen mode.
As always, there are several bug fixes that are also being pushed out with the update. Many thanks to those who tell us when they have an issue and also our dedicated beta testers, that get in touch with every update.
More updates on their way soon!
